The Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic’s new One UI 4.5 software has been in development by Samsung all summer. The fifth One UI 4.5 beta update, which comes with a ton of changes, gives us access to the most recent build after seeing beta after beta arrive and viewing some previews of what’s in development.
Users who have signed up for the beta will receive an update package weighing 169.58MB with the build number ZVG7. The update resolves some permission issues relating to the clock and weather applications in the digital dashboard, as well as bugs like the force-closed error that showed up after challenges set on the watch had been completed. Additionally, the compass app can now provide readings that are more precise.
The fifth beta update for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is shown. The smartwatch’s sudden decrease in battery life, especially after installing Google Assistant, was one of the main issues with previous updates running on it. This update promises to increase battery charging efficiency and power consumption stability, hopefully extending the time between charges. The bubble view’s compatibility with the Line messaging app while engaging in an activity like cycling has also been fixed in the new beta.
While we’ll be delighted to see this update reach a stable state, we’re also eager to see the Galaxy Watch 5 make its debut at Samsung’s eagerly awaited Galaxy Unpacked event on August 10. Perhaps we’ll be updating more frequently than we anticipated given the battery life improvements that are rumored.
